On September 28, 2020, on the territory of the subzone «TURKISTAN» SEZ, the opening of the international airport «Hazret Sultan Airport» took place, the construction of which was carried out by a Turkish company, as well as participant in the «TURKISTAN» SEZ YDA Group.
NURSULTAN NAZARBAYEV PARTICIPATED IN THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
During his visit to the Turkestan region, Elbasy took part in the opening ceremony of the international airport in Turkestan.
The construction of the international airport was carried out within the framework of a public-private partnership. The airport, located 20 km from the city, was built by international standards, using modern technologies. For the construction of the air harbor, 102 units of special equipment and more than 300 builders were involved. The total area of the international airport is 905 hectares. The capacity of the passenger terminal will be about three million passengers a year.
