Every year, the fDi Intelligence analytical center, a division of The Financial Times, publishes the Global Free Zones of the Year rating of economic zones. The rating is based on several indicators, such as the number of residents and their support, global coverage, and available infrastructure, and also took into account the assessment of fDi Intelligence experts.
Competition to the best special economic zones of the world and was awarded victory in three nominations:

Rating analysts noted the achievements of the «TURKISTAN» SEZ in supporting small and medium-sized businesses, expanding the territory, modernizing infrastructure facilities at the industrial site, and promoting the brand.
The special economic zone «TURKISTAN», with a total area of 1938 hectares, was founded on October 29, 2018, to promote the accelerated development of the city of Turkestan.
