BRITISH INVESTORS ARE INTERESTED IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TURKESTAN REGION
Issues of developing trade and economic cooperation and investment opportunities were discussed on the sidelines of the Kazakh-British investment forum «Kazakhstan Global Investment Forum 2019», held in London and organized by «FT Live Events». The forum was attended by over 400 delegates, corporate investors from the UK and other countries. The delegation of the Turkestan region, which included the heads of «Turkistan Invest», management companies of the «TURKISTAN» SEZ, and the industrial zone «Turkistan», was headed by the deputy Akim of the region, Kazinform reports concerning the press service of the regional akimat.
Meirzhan Myrzaliev noted that the Turkestan region provides several privileges for investors, which should help create favorable conditions and attract investment to the region. At the same time, according to him, today ancient Turkestan, preserving its historical appearance, is turning into a modern beautiful city, thereby attracting more and more foreign tourists.
It should be noted that a delegation from the Turkestan region held more than 25 meetings with leading corporate investors in the fields of agriculture, construction, tourism, and renewable energy. As part of the event, the TURKISTAN Special Economic Zone was awarded the Global Free Zones of the Year 2019 award for creating the best free economic zone.
In addition, an agreement was reached with the Financial Times on the further development of cooperation and the implementation of several projects in the region. As a result of the forum, a return visit of British investors and tourists is planned to get acquainted with the region and strengthen trade and economic ties between the parties.
